Krissy and Sam’s wedding blog

Krissy got in touch with me that she was after someone to complete set up and style for her wedding. She wanted someone who would be able to use everything she provided to just simply come in and set everything up for her on the day.
Krissy and Sam were getting married at Jonkers farm in Waitakere, West Auckland. If you haven’t ever looked at Jonkers farm have a look at their website it’s amazing and there really is no place like it. http://www.jonkersfarm.co.nz/
Krissy and Sam were going for simple yet so elegant, olive leaves, candles, stretch marquee and amazing views.
When I first met Krissy I knew I was going to love working with them they were a cool younger couple who go out on their dirt bikes in the weekend and knew what they wanted.
I went out with Krissy for a site visit and I straight away knew why she choose this venue. Getting married in the woodlands really set the story and vibe for the rest of your wedding day and the views are amazing. Jo the owner is great to work with and really shows you why you have a great location.
After going through everything I would be doing on the day and talking with Jo, Krissy decided to change from set up and style to on the day coordination to make sure everything came together.
In the week leading up to her wedding I met with Krissy to go through everything and wow she was my dream bride!! She had everything to be done in categories and full tasks to be done. Normally this is something I would do but Krissy had done it all for me. I felt so at ease going into this knowing everything was outlined so would be exactly as she would want it.  Krissy also felt at ease knowing I knew exactly what she wanted and would handle it all now.
On 24 Feb the day was here, we drove out the Jonkers farm and go into it.
I set up the woodlands area first, where they would be getting married including dressing the arch and putting flowers out.
Next I went over to the stretch tent and sorted everything ready to start setting up. I had to decorate 11 tables plus the 3 that made up the head table. This was no small feat with all the candles that needed to be arranged into jar and onto the tables . I also had to get the bar staff set up and sorted, try and find a solution for the cooler trailer that wasn’t working properly and coordinate any other vendors coming in.
Krissy and Sam made an amazing pallet bar themselves which they now rent out. (Should you wish to rent it let me know and I can put you in touch with them.) I loved this bar and the set up they had for it.
Once everything was done, the guests started arriving and it was almost time to get Krissy and Sam married!! Krissy arrived down the hill in one of the amazing old trucks Jonkers farm has available to use. Krissy and her bridesmaids were all pretty nervous but after a few deep breathes, some calming words and laying her dress and veil out to be perfect, it was time to send them down the amazing isle to marry her soul mate.
Krissy and Sam both wrote their own vows which were so heartfelt and written with so much love. There wasn’t a dry eye in the woodlands!
After the wedding they had a cocktail hour with games set up for guests to enjoy while photos went on.
Just before they returned from photos everyone was invited to find their seats in the stretch tent before the bride and groom arrived back.
Dinner and speeches followed and you could see how much everyone loved Krissy and Sam from the word they all said.
After the cutting of the cake and first dance Krissy and Sam went off for sunset photos on top of the hill looking out to sea. These photos were amazing, Kate did such an amazing job with all of their photos.
Once they were away everything I needed to do was done and I left them to celebrate with family and friends.
Krissy and Sam thank you for letting me be part of your special day, letting me use so many of your images on my site and just being an amazing couple I am so honoured to now know you both.
